You're right Bernard. They were very different times. But it doesn't stop me thinking that in a time when all the Joint Promotion members did so much to legitimatise wrestling and make it look like a respectable sport they gave such little value to the titles. I looked at programmes and posters to support or not Anglo Italian's comments and found no references to Bert's title. They could have made so much more of champions and their championship bouts. Maybe they were just making so much money they thought it unimportant.
I was ready to jump in and defend Morrell from your attacks Anglo and then read the handbill. There is no defence. "Sloppy" is being generous, it is nonsense. As for being secured for Leicester the Royal - Preston matching was a favourite of Morrell's and did the rounds.

I won't defend Morrell for letting bills go out without proof reading, But
many times these bills were, I believe, relayed by someone on the phone to the printers.
If that "someone" was not well into wrestling, i.e. an office worker, they could make the mistake between heavyweight and heavy middle weight

Are you sure, Main Mask, that Bert Royal was the holder there? It looks to me like the bout where Bert first won the vacant heavy-middleweight title.
Norman Morrell's sloppy wording and loose grip on what a heavyweight is only serve to confuse.
Working overseas on this day back in 1983, Bernie Wright (as Athol Foley) beat Randy Webber in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada.
On our TV screens, on this day in 1965: -
Norman Walsh v Spencer Churchill
Bernard Murray (2) v Bobby Barnes (1)
Eric Sands/Alan Colbeck (2) v Joe Critchley/Frank O’Donnell (1)
A real oldie here and always wondered who Alan Carroll was in terms of the great Joe and Jack Carroll.
Or is it coincidence.
Some imaginative advertising if you look at the wording.
Simple honest stuff.
I reckon in order of 'wow' factor, bill one shades two, Tower Circus third.
