Three bills from this day. Starting in Dale Martin land in 1964.
Five years later to Bolton. Quite a tag match with Kellett and Critchley against Howes and Martinellli, who must have made a formidable pair.
Plus a couple of Heritage friends, Paul Mitchel and Meru Ullah.

The death of Peter Baines.
There could have been fewer gentler, kinder men in wrestling than Peter Baines. I don't know how much of the future he knew, but in the August before he died he told me of arrangements he had made at the time of his death. It was still a shock when only four months later we heard that this apparently agile man who still travelled extensively around the country had died.
Peter was a referee and Master of Ceremonies for many years. He began working for Scottish promoter Alex Bannerman before going on to work for Joint Promotions throughout Scotland and Northern England.
In the 1970s Peter began working for the independent promoters, mainly Brian Dixon and Orig Williams. Leaving Joint Promotions was not done lightly. Peter was standing for the principles that fans of the Heritage Years would respect. Here was a man that knew what was good for the business.
Peter was a regular attendee at the Reunions in Ayr, Leeds and Kent, travelling around the country in his campervan. He was an extremely popular man with all members of the wrestling community. He was Honorary President of the Wrestlers Reunion Scotland.

Erm, on balance of Ron's bills I would probably agree with Ron. Only just though, I like the Aberdeen show, but Marino v Howes would sway it. Main Mask's Wimbledon show would have attracted me. McManus against a heavier Haggetty - I would have been a sucker at the time. Wild Angus for me any day. And Peter Rann. Well, I never saw him live but one of the few whose character came through on the small screen.
Some really interesting bouts there, Ron and Adrian. This is the second occasion I’ve heard of Les Kellett tagging with Romeo Joe Critchley. The other, which was televised, was against Steve Logan and Colin Joynson, when they came away 2 - 1 winners.
The Belle Vue Show for me would have been my pick.
