American Luther Lindsay was born this day in 1924. He made one short but memorable visit to Britain in 1961, knocking out Mike Marino on television and a win over Josef Zaranoff at the Royal Albert Hall. Admittedly repeating myself, okay I’m not alone, I have previously mentioned that the match against Zaranoff was repeated on television, in the midlands anyway, in 1979. . The 1979 ITV strike lasted eleven weeks. Following a stretch off air ITV companies began limited transmission of old programmes. Amongst the wrestling programmes broadcast was Lindsay v Zaranoff from 1961.

Local boy Clem Lawrence held Bert Assirati to a draw in a British Heavyweight title match at Chelmsford.
I can't agree with you, Main Mask, that McManus & Logan would have won that Bristol tourney.
It's no joke that McManus wanted to get away quick from every bill.
I bet he was on in the second bout and lost to Kwango & Myers before the interval. They would have to reappear nearly two hours later.
At Chelmsord, just look how Logan was billed as champion. These posters were printed well in advance, Logan wasn't champion for many weeks -- this must have been printed before he became champion. That would be cool to know.
The Ost's poster is dynamite. Garfiled headlining as the Australian against Dr Death. It looks like Garfield was back for Christmas with lots of promises for Paul Lincoln, maybe a Starr contract in his bag, maybe midgets too. But he didn't stay long with Lincoln and was soon back with DM. There must have been some fallout there.
