Looking at the programme for St. Mungo's hall, it is so similar in layout to the programmes that I bought at St.James Hall, I wonder if the printer used by Norman Morrell used the same layout for each programme and just altered certain things like venue, date and wrestlers.
Is this an economic saving do you think or would it be quicker to start from scratch each time? I don't know enough about the printing trade to be sure.
@adrianpollard.shangri-la I recall seeing Hans Streiger verus Billy Howes at Belle Vue and it was a wild match. I also recall them teaming up at Belle Vue to take on The Saints. My biggest regret was never promoting Streiger but I was so intimidated by him. He was there in the dressing room of my first ever promotion in January 1976 at The Public Hall, Wilmslow, even though he wasn't booked. I made some silly comment about putting him on the bill if I had known he was available and he looked at me with polite disdain. I always thought that Wendy Cheyney was beautiful and I found the courage to ring her up once with the idea of asking her to meet me for a drink. When a male voice answered I hung up scared that it was Streiger. She told me later that it was her dad and she was quite rightly appalled by my cowardice. I know that Streiger was a difficult character (particularly for a twenty-one year old) but not booking him is one of my biggest regrets·

At the New Brighton Tower Jack Sherry beat The Ghoul in what was reportedly his first defeat.
Paul Luty has at least 3 dates for his death via various sites including one 5 years after the others. I wondered why so much confusion.
Here's a corker from 73 years ago, 7/6 was pricey enough post-war:
Paul Luty was a bonny big baby, he was born in 1932
