Can‘t quite get my head around Lynch beating Garfield, Ellington and Borienko? Was he the fan favorite for just the one night? Surely Garfield was disqualified in their bout?
Sheik(?) Michael Taylor. Presumably he looked so Caucasian they just couldn’t bring themselves to call him Abdula Waddy Waddy. Or was it just because of the needles gimmick, ’cause everyone knows that all Sheiks adorn their boat race with hardware.
I'm sure it could Anglo. i like the idea of Michael Taylor and a needle match. Every match was a needle match! He was on at Blackburn and lay on a bed of nails (or was it glass?) and invited someone to stand on his chest. I can't remember anything about the wrestling bill.
I suppose in all these ON THESE DAY threads we shall have to award a prize to the first to spot a wrestlers billed on two programmes on the same night, of the same year. Might occur?
Wrestling overseas today, Pete Roberts defeated Daniel Van Buyten, in Dortmund, Germany, on this day in 1977.
On our TV screens, on this day in 1970:-
Alf Marquette (DQ) v Judd Harris
Steve Veidor (W) v Barry Douglas
Pat Roach (1) v John Cox (1)
Danny Lynch was popular at Wimbledon Palais when he had a series of fights with The Outlaw, as for how the bouts were won I can't remember, sorry.

Look at the lovely little touches above when there's a hands-on promoter: tournament winner wrestling next week, where there's also a return bout.
The main event below will have packed the hall. Mysterious Sheikh Taylor has an outing too in a needle match.
Good Old Danny!!(1968)
