We have never got to the bottom of how Mick McMichael came to have a ring name so similar to that of Mick McManus. Let's face it, he was a dead ringer for McManus looks wise, just 24 years younger.
There must have been instances of punters complaining, certainly before McMichael became well known on tv. But I have never ready of any.
In wrestling, coincidences ... aren't.
Certainly on this poster, we can see a promoter clearly not lying, but equally clearly inviting the uninitiated, or those flashing by on a London bus, to believe they would see two Londoners in action:

You mention it being "Pearl Harbour Day". One of my favourite wrestlers of all time was Mae Young. I only saw her live once (at Kensington Olympia) and would have loved to have seen her in her prime. I recall an interview with her in which she recalled that she was booked to fight a one hour duration cats (I forget the opponent) so both ladies were surprised when, about twenty minutes or so into the match, the timekeeper rang the bell and the M.C. entered the ring, took the microphone and announced that Pearl Harbour had been bombed by the Japanese·
