Looks like we are going for a record today so here are some more.
I remember the first one as being rather sad, in the tunnel that is the De La Warr Pavilion. A decimated bill and poor Jack, not too good on the pins, humbly offering everyone a refund. But we stayed. I have successfully forgotten the detail, don't read too much into what you see here.
I agree with Hack, or rather he stole my idea, that Breaks v Royal is very appealing. Poor Bartelli going down 0-2 - he won't have liked that.
That's an attractive opening bill from main Mask. It would have been more attractive if we had known the opponent for Steve Logan, because this was the original Iron Man and his opponent was Dynamite Kid. Regular fans would be in the know but a missed opportunity to pull in any occasional ones. Breaks v Royal is one I like the sound of. Breaks was always good entertainment, and Bert would give him plenty to jump up and down about. Yes, Haystacks in a 2 v 1 would appeal to our baser elements. Saint v McMichael has an attraction, but mainly because of Johnny. As for Bartelli v Roach? Oh dear, even five years earlier I would have been at the front of the queue complaining this should have been Main Event. By 1977, I would be asking just how long is Bartelli going to carry on. A mismatch on paper with a realistic result. Roach won 2-0.
Interesting tag from SaxonWolf. That's one I think all of us tv fans of that time should remember. Surprisingly I don't.
but my star prize today goes to Bu11ough for this poster featuring his dad against Jim Stockdale. That would have been an attractive match to those local fans who knew the two of them. Both were very strong men. Good to say Ray Clarke on there, who went on to work for Joint of course .We are still waiting to hear from you Rat :). And Dicky Swales, now North East champion! Len Young and Bob Stirling are new to me.

Here's a novelty, the Beatles used to promote a show. Imagine using their faces nowadays!
