I don't think we can say it was nonexistent as it did seem to exist. However, the likelihood of any wrestling fans knowing or caring about its existence outside of Warrington is minimal.
Thanks for the question. Yes, Hack, I do have examples of those regular title defenses. According my records the last title defense which I was able to find so far was on December 7th, 1972 v Terry Rudge. So yeah, that title was active at least during March 1971 - December 1972, I haven't researched 1973 yet.
Have you any examples of these "regular" defences Ruslan? Or that it was open to all? Other than the clue in the name. If this title was of any importance those watching the wrestling at the time would have surely noticed it. Steve Wright was not championship class in 1971. He won this non existent title because it was a Ted Betley promotion, and he was Betleys protégé in his local hall. Parr Hall was no Belle Vue. Anywhere other than Warrington Tony St Clair would be expected to win.
This is the belt Steve Wright was wearing on the back cover of The Wrestler, that Ruslan had asked about on here a few times. We finally got an answer.
This sounds like a bit more promoters balderdash. Three spurious titles in one run of the mill match. I was very impressed by Steve Wright around this time but a match between these two in 1971 without this mythical championship would have been the opening bout on most bills.

Yes Hack , an absolute work of fiction.
They could dream this stuff up then with no newspaper coverage and no internet.
Don't bother trying to find how they got those titles.
