When We think of PAUL LINCOLN's DOCTOR DEATH-We naturally think-HEAVYWEIGHT??
DD was almost invariably Billed as so on Posters and in Programmes!-Although he Fought much
Heavier Men-for Me I reckon his Top Weight was probably 14 and a Half Stone-LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT
MID HEAVY Tops!
Now in 1960-I Believe PAUL LINCOLN only Weighed around 13 and a Half Stone and 'Beefed-Up'
when it was thought DOCTOR DEATH would have a Longish Run-because MASKED Heavyweights
had the Biggest Draw Potential!-In Early 1960-LINCOLN had not yet begun Wrestling under his
Own Promotional Banner-so he had a few Months to put on some Extra Pounds!
Also in Early 1960 DOCTOR DEATH was not yet a Main Eventer!
Below My Programme for 17TH FEBRUARY that Year at SOPHIA GARDENS CARDIFF-where we find
DD Wrestling for DEVEREUX!!-Only a short Time later this Venue was to be 'Taken Over' by PAUL
LINCOLN Promotions and become One of his Flagship Arenas!
But look at THIS-Down the Card-DOCTOR DEATH is Billed as a MIDDLEWEIGHT!?#!?#
Again notice the Presence of JOYCE and CAPELLI!!

Doctor Death (assuming it was Paul Lincoln) took on Jackie Pallo snr, in either the Late 70's or very early 80's at the victory cliub in Beeston near Nottingham
Well we all know that promoters could never bake a cake, they were clueless about weights because no one was ever weighed. Lincoln was never a heavyweight so it does seem feasible that he was a middleweight who bulked out to meet the requirements of his new masked man.
But then I found Lincoln in 1953 working for Dale Martin as a heavyweight against Docker Don Stedman. Mind you the same year he was a middleweight and a junior heavyweight!
Looks about the same as young Rocco
From the MAIN MASK DD Files....
Early DOCTOR DEATH Posing for his Photo!
Well do YOU think he looks like a HEAVYWEIGHT then??
