Too late to catch last nights late edition, this morning whilst sipping coffee, the thought popped into my head, that some time back, I had seen John Lees pictured in a series of articles, by probably the World’s leading wrestling historian, Phil Lions. I searched and came up trumps. Seen here, John is one of four wrestlers, who in 1970 were gearing up to show off their wares in TURKEY.
Was a name eventually attached to the guy next to Les? Thanks again to PHIL.

The Bearded One is nestling amongst three big heavyweights in 1970 and looks to be in the same weight class. A year or so later Steve Clements was World Middleweight Champion.
I rest my case.
Steve Clements went to Mexico in February 1969 and didn't return until 1972. The Wrestler magazine reported the world title win in August 1970.
You might want to pick up your case again Anglo Italian.
I think if ‘beardie’ stood tall, Roach and Lees would tower over him. Les wasn’t very tall, was he?

I was all for going with Clements, but undecided now.
Bearded Burly Barry.
Looks like Burly Barry to me.
Hi John, I answered on that thread (on Wrestling Classics) that it looked like Steve Clements (son of Ted Beresford) but that was just a guess.
