I can't find any earlier independent outings for Pallo than the one Ron found in April 1974. But it doesn't seem to be a clean break. Pallo was working both camps until October 1974.
Maybe this is a manifestation of the 1974 schism. The world promoters were retiring and Joint Promotions were all over the place. Pallo's fall-out was with Dale Martin. He no longer worked for them but other Joint members were willing to profit from his drawing power until he made the complete break in the autumn.
Jackie(Mr TV)Pallo from Highbury North London take on Bert Royal for The British Middleweight Championship Belt at Nottingham Ice Rink The Midlands on Monday April 21st 1969.
Pallo & Son wrestled for Dale-Martin - Joint Promotions until 1974 on ITV's World of Sport and he was the subject of This is Your Life Introduced by Eamonn Andrews on Wednesday April 18th 1973 with his cousin,The Voice of Professional Boxing Reg Gutteridge and the actor George Sewell.
Jackie as the promoter for Pallo Enterprises Wrestling Shows from 1975 as wrestler against Les Kellett and the tag partner with his son Jackie Pallo Junior when left Dale Martin in London.

It isn't that I'm not interested. AIl it is is just I don't know enough to make any meaningful contribution except to say I'm fascinated by it all.
That is indeed interesting and fits in with other patterns.
On this site in the Years of Wrestling1974 we wrote:
"As in the previous year, Scotland once again proved the graveyard for ageing Dale Martin bill-toppers. Just like Alan Garfield before him, Mr TV Pallo now exited Joint Promotions’ employ following an extended Scottish tour where his frequent opponent, also on his last wrestling legs, was George Kidd. Pallo and Son skulked about on these fringes of Joint Promotions’ territory for the latter part of the year, no doubt establishing the groundwork for the breakaway to come. This Garfield-Pallo departure lounge in Hibernia would continue in 1975 with yet another topliner, as will be revealed “next year”."
What's more, Pallo's winning and losing of his title a month later occurred well away from the South but not on Morrell or Relyskow bills. How rare to see Ted Beresford and Peter Keenan promoting at these venues for big championship nights.
As our Year of Wrestling stated, change was afoot in 1974. Some kind of schism was appearing within the JP members, possibly with Pallo as agitator-in.chief. Main Mask's title for this topic has become a misnomer, so I'll start a 1974 topic...
Interestingly, Ray has results for Pallo & Son working for the Joint combine up in Scotland in May 1974.
Hi Ron,
Looks like we are the only two nerds interested in all this. Safety in numbers - otherwise I'd really be worrying about my sanity!
First thing that strikes me: how, even in infidelity, they respected the monthly and quarterly bookings. I bet there are bouts on 31st March, and then the first two days in April,
Next thing I notice: maybe we have overlooked the blindingly obvious!
This BSE bill features the hilarious Catweazle, Popular Mick .... and can't even be bothered to name Steve Viedor's opponent. This sounds like the work of......? No prizes for guessing.
Ok, Wryton got on with it. Pallo was just one of many names for Wryton.
But BSE in DM Land is fascinating. This of course links in with precise takeover dates. Let's face it, we have no idea about the continuum Dale-McManus-Marino-MC. These are just names that casual posters on here bandy around. The real history that you and I try to dissect continues to elude us.
I believe that 31st March 1974 is a date more important than our hitherto understanding.
Today's ramblings nudge us nearer to understanding. I just wish our other knowledgeable friends would join in with their in-depth thoughts.
Hi Anglo , I think I have your answer. I show here his last Dales Show at Bury StEdmunds, then Best/Wryton at Liverpool and finally Hanley for Wryton.
Within days he has jumped ship at Haverill basically selling the tickets.
Nice one Ron. How can such recent history be so unfathomable!
All this Pallo chat leads me to deduce that, from 1967 to 1973, Pallo was well regarded by Dale Martins. All those big bills with his face alongside McManus’s, but seldom against him. Here he seems to have travelled to Glasgow with Logan - unless Kwango was a Knight.
And then of course the big split for 1974 launch. I wonder when his last JP or DM bout was?
So DM seemed to give him all the top of the bill and title work he wanted. But it wasn’t enough to keep him. Maybe he just played along through his disgruntlement to allow JJ to get bookings and tv exposure before breaking away?
Does anyone have any thoughts?
You put me on the scent Anglo. Not belle Vue , but thanks to Ray's index I can reveal the title change back. You would never have guessed.
Not advertised as a title match , but the title change noted in Ray's Index.
A few months later at the same venue, Bert was defending the title against Mick McMichael, with Pallo on the card against George Kidd.
So somewhere in betweens, Bert took the title back. Wasn't it at Belle Vue?
Correct Anglo, Pallo did win. And yet .....Try and find a bill after this match advertising him as the champ. We know Beresford liked to collect belts. Was it a one off and forget it afterwards.
That is indeed another corker, Ron. Or excessive if you want to look at it enviously from Dale Martin land. On these bills, I always wonder which bout was on first?
I believe this was the bout where Pallo did win his belt.
That's a great bill. Any tag with Bull Davis was a riot.
Pallo did win a title.
