The death has been announced of the Manchester-basd heavyweight Paul Carpentier aged 86. Paul wrestled mainely in the North and Mkidlands and for the Independent promoters. He was a goo looking, well muscled wrestler and a favourite with the fans, He later teamed up with Cowboy Jack Cassidy in promoting and they ran many shows for many years mainly in the Lancshire area.
Our condolences to his family. Funeral arrangements yet to be announced.

Paul gave me one of my very first MC jobs at the Clay Cross Social Centre when he was running a few shows with Jack Cassidy. RIP Paul.. Gordon Pryor
George Shaw did a few shows for me and often provided the ring as well. As Paul Carpentier he was the dashing blue eye but he was also one of several wrestlers who also donned the bonnet for me and worked as Doctor Death. The last time he did so was at The Gala Baths, West Bromwich, in 1983 when I matched him against a Bradford wrestler called Guy Mitchell whom I knew nothing about but had to book because he was driving Les Kellett to the gig. They did a good little bout together. Incidentally, I don't know why, but halfway through typing this everything has appeared underlined.
Home page updated with a tribute to Paul Carpentier
Did he ever fight using his real name?
Thank you Eddie for this sad news. Paul was a good campaigner in the 1960s and into the 70s. Good guys Paul, Pat Curry and Henri Pierlot tackling battling away with villains Cassidy, Angus, Topham on independent bills. All masquerading as stars from around the globe but all local Manchester lads giving us a good night out.
RIP
Another missed from the sixties greats list.
Sorry about the spellings..... old age and failing eye sight.
