Please help. This is my GGrandpa Hughes as told by my Dads side of family he was the inventor of the catch as catch can any info on him??

Hello Claire, thanks for asking. As you can see there are people waiting to help, but as others have said we need a name and some information about this old photograph. Where he was from or any other bit of information, however tiny, would be helpful.

Hard to say Ruslan if we are looking at Music Hall era or a bit sooner , but would have thought after 1880. Other parts of the thread have been took off to consolidate it but Claire mentioned a claim that this guy was a Yorkshire man and invented catch.

He certainly did not invent it and if he was a Yorkshire man , I would imagine we might be looking at Saddleworth.

Most of all a Christian name is needed.
