Wrestling overseas, on this day, Judo Al Hayes (as Lord Alfred Hayes) was defending his NWA Western States Heavyweight title, and went to a time limit draw against Moose Morowski in Odessa, Texas, USA, on this day in 1972.

Enrique Edo Juan v Pietro Cappello (W)
Les Kellett (W) v Paul Luty
Eric Sands v Bobby Steele (W)
I don't get this bkendo1. Maybe you know more to explain.
Arbroath poster is 1977. If it had been any other Joint Promotions member I could understand Max making the changes. But this was historically a Relwyskow hall and in 1977 Relwyskow were still operating. In 1978 Directors of Joint Promotions were listed as H W Abbey, M J Judd, E. Lofthouse, G DeRelwyskow, M. Crabtree and M. McManus. Even as late as 10th December, 1990 Ann DeRelwyskow is still a Director of Joint Promotions along with Max and Beryl Crabtree.
So what would Max have to do with Arbroath if it was still a Relwyskow venue/ i know Max worked for the Relwyskows at times but surely they wouldn't let him use his own company's name on one of their bills. It might be something as simple as Max just taking over the hall from Relwyskows by agreement.
Arbroath Max using Best Wryton signs of change.Max billing Wonder Boy Wright, not Steve but Bernie confusing ,no change there,Bernie went on to become Athol in Calgary managed by the one and only John Foley who was without doubt a master craftsman.
A Royal Visit!
London v Paris!!
England v Italy,ooops that's tonight
Come on England,
It's coming Home!!
Talking of the seaside towns, Brid always did well, another great bill here:
I wonìt say that this was a nail in the coffin of British wrestling. But I do think this RAH flop, live on prime time tv, was the end of the ascent. Handled more cleverly, fans could have been left begging for more.
They weren't,
On this day in the Duke of Edinburgh went to the wrestling at the Royal Albert Hall. Maybe he had enjoyed it the first time. I never saw him at Chorley Town Hall or Preston Public Hall.
Best/Wryton does seem odd.
Post was Relwyskow was the promoter, which was unsurprising.
Did this change at any time. Who were the promoters at Arbroath in the late 1960s and early 1970s? If it was still Relwyskow then this does seem very odd.
Interesting that they used the Best/Wryton branding for a show in Scotland.
