The Leicestershire match-up is the most extreme example we have seen, and discussed often, of two wrestlers from one geographical area working in an unfamiliar geographical area and being matched with each other. Goodness knows why Dale Martin, who were certainly behind this Paul Lincoln show, were so blatant. Maybe trying out a couple of newcomers on their bill and not wanting to risk putting a couple of complete unknowns (to them) in with their regular workers.
Ron Campling had been working for the independents for about six years by this time, using the name Ron Marino. He did eventually come across to Joint but years later in the mid 1970s after Max had taken over.
Maurice LaRoache I haven't heard of, but there was a Mick LaRoache, who also wrestled as Michael Charles on the independents, and was the son of wrestler Ric Charles.
That all-Leicester bout raises several questions.
I love poring over these. But Kellett V Thomson was a famous bloody televised feud; as real as the Kellett v Rann feud seemed 9 years later.
Mind you, a bit of skimping can be detected each time in Bognor, it appears.
Here, what on earth were they thinking of? Two pretty much unknowns amongst the other DM stalwarts - but both from Leicester and on against each other! This was just an invitation to fans to make the obvious comments. Maybe these two paid to be allowed to wrestle! Looking at the four bouts and the proposed rounds, I bet these two wrestled a scoreless draw.
Next week is back to type and again a slightly sub-par Dale Martin bill. Weymouth was another south coast venue that seemed sub-par - but they did have two bills a week.

Good choice MM. I'm quite interested in the "second phase" of Paul Lincoln promotions. Another puzzle to piece together.
Another bit of wrestling mystery here.
By 1969 Paul Lincoln had taken the money from his 1966 deal and run.
Bognor was never a Paul Lincoln town. Here we are in 1965,just four months before Dale Martin swallowed up Paul Lincoln Management and Dale Martin hold Bognor. I can see why Dale Martin continued with the Paul Lincoln branding in the Paul Lincoln venues but why this Dale Martin show should be passed off as Dale Martin bemuse me.
Seeing Stan Grey is like finding a defective postage stamp or banknote.
Usually those Lincoln bills have a few lingering signs of Paul Lincoln's influence but this is Dale Martinissimo with Mike Judd, indeed.
What perhaps make you under-enthusiastic, dear Main Mask, is that Paul Lincoln had to take a cut from these Dale Martin bills - so they cut out the big names. At that time, 1969 and 1970, Dale Martin still saw Barnes and Street as undercarders trying to make the big time, also pay-wise no doubt they earned the same as Costas or the Classical Stylist.
My long-winded way of saying these were cheap bills and necessarily so.
