Perhaps I can make a more sensible contribution now I know that Big Chief Sitting Bull also wrestled as Chief Thunderbird for I saw him some ten years on from the featured poster on a Gordon Corbett show staged at The Granby Halls in Leicester which featured a four team K.O. tournament with the winning team to go forward to contest for the world tag team title at Madison Square Garden in New York (or so the poster stated). My memory of the show is hazy, in fact I forget the two tag teams who lost in the preliminaries, but the final featured the "All American" tag team of Chief Thunderbird and "Bronco" Jack Cassidy against Germany's notorious Kramer Brothers (Jack Land and Reg Ray). I also recall that Harry Yardley was the referee.
I was hanging around by the stage door prior to the show and I recall Reg Ray arriving with his suitcase containing his gear to be greeted by Yardley who said, "Did you know that you're a German tonight?" to a surprised Ray.
Chief Sitting Bull was most likely Mancunian Ben Watijeski. He usually wrestled as Chief Thunderbird but also used the Sitting Bull name.
Maybe others in the know can help with Red Cloud. Roger Boileau is reported as turning into Billy Red Cloud. Lots of appearances in 1962 for Paul Lincoln. The name is still around in 1963, but mainly in the north. I suspect this was someone different.
29th. You and your lovely covid free Jacinda may be confident of making it to the 29th. The rest of us are not so sure. You're not thinking of selling her off are you?
Cheers Hack, I have seen Alf Turton on some other bills but have no other info on him. I have another one of these Tommy Whelan posters for next week (29th).
A good opposition bill there Ostie from Tommy Whelan, who I would like to know more about. He did put on a show in Blackburn, just the one as far as I know, with Sheik Michael Taylor topping the bill and lying on his bed of nails. The two Woodward brothers fighting each other, Judo Alf and his mate Pete. The one I don't know is Alf Turton. 10/6 seems steep for 1963, though I agree it is 1963.
Ah!-Right!-Is This TUBBY then Taking-On The Mighty KENDO NAGASAKI??
I wouldn't know. I was about to say by 1977 it could have been anyone with a hood on for the night but then found a record from 1976 of the Undertaker being unmasked by Bartelli and Daddy, both times it was Vince Apollo.

I believe that Big Chief Sitting Bull joined a nudist colony and changed his name to Big Chief Standing Bare
Here's an independent show from I believe 1963:
A trio of anniversaries for today.
1937
Marriage of Bob Gregory and Princess Baba
1944
London County Council bans wrestling in its halls
