Hack, thanks, how about pro wrestling at Ewood Park (Blackburn Rovers FC stadium) in the 1880s? It looks like originally it was a multi-purpose stadium.
The only wrestler I can think of billed from Blackburn was in the 1930s, Joe Pye. Whether or not he was a member of the Pye family I don't know, though Jack did have a brother Joe.
Gentlemen, one thing I noticed that there were not many wrestlers who actually were from Blackburn, hence my question: did they have their own star in Blackburn?
I've only visited Blackburn twice; once to timekeep for Dixon at King George's Hall and once as a punter to the ice rink for a WWF card. It was the only time I saw the great Lelani Kai live and she was working with Alundra Blayze who was their ladies' champion at the time.
King George's Hall was a magnificent hall. A.C.S. were promoters pre war (don't know anything about them) with Norman Morrell taking over soon after the end of the war. Blackburn bills under Morrell were always a notch up on the ones in nearby Preston.
Sorry, I'm not that old. Ask Bernard😁

One thing that surprises me about these bills.
In the first 3 bills there is another Heavyweight bout which could easily have been the top of the bill.
As it is after my time, I don't know how good Dara Singh was, but Billy Joyce was a top wrestler and Hassan Ali Bey could hold his own with top men.
The same thing applies to the Georges Gordienko and Geoff Portz fights.
