My computer skills are so basic that I am unable to upload a picture question. Perhaps I could do it the other way round. The answer is Bobby Graham. Now can someone upload a picture of him at the start of his career when he looked nothing like his later years?
There seemed to be confusion over whether it was "Texan" Jack Bence or Edouardo Carpentier at one stage before the suggestion Jack Bence was successfully given. I just wanted to comment that in the summer of 1970 on an AWA show at Milwaukee Stadium I saw Edouardo Carpentier versus Jack Bence in the main supporting bout. I have contributed in detail previously regarding this show on previous threads but it just seemed relevant to mention it again in the context of the quiz.
Well you thought it before me! Although as soon as I saw the clue he was American he sprung to mind did not realise you had answered first! I think we never considered him before because we had only seen him ( or I had) on the french site in those two bouts and he looks so dour! Certainly not smiling! When I originally saw the photo I thought like someone else Edouard Carpentier and only because of the jumper he was wearing! There is a bout of him v Lou Therez and he enters the ring wearing a similar woolly pullover
Looks facially similar to Roy Heffernan, who was one of The Fabulous Kangaroo's tag team, who had a lot of success in North America. He wrestled over here in the 1950's.
The fact we don't recognise him rather suggests he must have looked very different in the ring, perhaps with a costume or beard. He's only about 50 in the photo.
Anglo you made me chuckle with the War Eagle remark,it ain't Gordie either,Doesn't look like Sandy Orford.Hack do you know who this is now as you said here in 65 or did I confuse you I meant guy in the pic I didn't know, did you think I meant the Catalina Comet.

Well done Graham. He sure filled out!
Hope you can upload a picture question now. Otherwise, just set us a worded question.
Roger Wells (I can see it now I've worked out the answer but never would have guessed without the Nagasaki clue)
Neither, no.
A Dale Martin stalwart.
Is it a young Eddie flash Barker.
Billy Howes?
Had a big profile bout against Kendo Nagasaki.
You are both nearly correct. It's a young shot .... but of someone else.
Not a young McMichael?
Facially looks like a young Giant Haystacks!
No, but as you say, JS, it's one you all know.
Slick Eddie the Quiff comes to mind?
Ok, I'll set one more:
You would have noticed Graham, that Ed was much beefier!

Sorry, I would if I could, I am lousy with technology don’t know how to.
Public Warning to Poolstead for multiple replies. I can only accept your first suggestion.
Which was correct!!! Tiger Ryan.
Over to you for another picture, please.
Jan Kovacs?
Tiger Jimmy Ryan?
Cyanide Sid?
Right then, let's keep it going.
Who's this?
Haha, I see Poolstead, we had some telepathy there ☺
Anglo won the pot! Jack Bence it is.
Might be a young Jack Cassidy

Yes, Poolstead, I think it's him. Why not?
Jack Bence?
Texas Jack Bence.
Frankie Townsend?
Early submission everyone? Come on! American.
Looks like a nice guy, but not in the ring, no siree!
I like your thinking howard_m.
I'll go for Dynamite Kid's dad.
Texas Ted Heath?

Barnes, never attained heavyweight proportions!
Bobby Barnes?
Orford and Carpentier all good guesses.

Ok, I've got it: Josef Kovacs.

Is it Sandy Orford (The Mask)?
We all know him???
If that turns out to be true, this is one of the great quiz pictures.
I thought about The Outlaw, but too much hair. I never saw War Eagle or Red Ivan smile, but it's still not them.
He took his life over a lost love tragically.Incidentally ain't a clue on this guy must be before my time
George Drake was 39 when he committed suicide. I thought it was in December, 1967. What's the Valentine link?
2nd clue... He looks a pleasant chap in his civies. He wasn’t pleasant inside the ring! You all know him.
An older Steve Veidor Bell?
Poor George didn't live long enough to age badly,a very sad story, poignant because of valentine's
Maybe he didn't age well. George Drake? Yep, I've no idea either.
He looks like Eduardo Carpentier .
I've got blurred vision from looking at him. No idea. Though vaguely familiar.
It's such a clear face that I probably just don't know him.
Or should I?
