It has been reported that Ralph Ward who hailed from Lincolnshire and wrestled in the 1960s and 70s paased away on the 9th December 2023. May he now Rest in Peace.
Lincoln's Ralph Ward turned professional in 1968, working for the independent promoters part time, an installation engineer during the day. His slender stature led to him dallying with the idea of becoming a jockey, working at a stables in Walcot, Lincolnshire. Concerned about his small stature he took up weight lifting and filled out. Promoter Jack Taylor encouraged Ralph to follow his ambition to take up wrestling and gave initial training, supplemented by Sheik Michael Taylor and Lincoln wrestlers Stuart Bellamy and Pete Lenton. Further afield from his Lincolnshire home he used the name Young Hercules and remained active into the 1980s. Opponents included Dave Shade, Pete Lapaque and Hurricane Smith.
