Sad news. A great performer. Remember seeing him and Pete Roberts walking along before a show one night and I asked if they were going to win - Sid scowled 'I always win!' R.I.P. Sid.
Very sorry to hear this sad news. I remember distinctly Sid’s first televised bout, as Norman Cooper, against fellow debutant Barry Cannon. He was a great entertainer and the frequency of his TV appearances was a testament to his good standing in the craft.
RIP Hell in boots a lovely bloke exact opposite of ring persona, could really wrestle a bit.Spent more time outside the ring had the ability to exit through ropes at will.Another gud gone.
Sid Cooper is one that unites us all. I don't recall a critical word about him. Also, a truly national worker, I reckon we all thought of him as one of our own.
As for villainy. He didn't need to do anything. He could just get in the ring and stand there. We could tell he was a bad un.
How Sid was never in panto I just don't know, probably the most natural villain we saw, let's be honest with those facial expressions and scowls he couldn't have been anything else.
Very saddened to hear this. It speaks volumes that it was Sid and Peter Kaye who were entrusted with preparing Keith Rawlinson. It was mentioned that he was a Theatre Porter at a hospital, and one of the staff who was there was going for some major surgery insisted that “Norman” had to be the one to wheel her in. Such is the regard he was held in, whichever avenue of life he chose to walk down.
He was interviewed by Jeff Stelling on a programme whose name I can't remember, but i think it was on Sky

Sid Cooper
The ultimate pantomime villain apparently worked as a hospital Porter. Good ole Sid. RIP.

One of the great villains.

It's all been said above.
Great memories of seeing him live on my native Isle of Wight - where Cooper is a local name (and mine, too!)
Rest in Peace, sir.

Such sad new. Fantastic heel, could really generate the heat when required. RIP.
Sad news indeed, RIP.
Very sad news. He was a great heel, and it's always saddened me that I started going to live shows just a little too late to see him in action.
Very sad. Saw him what seems like hundreds of times.
RIP
R.I.P. "Cyanide" Sid Cooper.
