He was interviewed by Jeff Stelling on a programme whose name I can't remember, but i think it was on Sky
Sad news. A great performer. Remember seeing him and Pete Roberts walking along before a show one night and I asked if they were going to win - Sid scowled 'I always win!' R.I.P. Sid.
Very sorry to hear this sad news. I remember distinctly Sid’s first televised bout, as Norman Cooper, against fellow debutant Barry Cannon. He was a great entertainer and the frequency of his TV appearances was a testament to his good standing in the craft.
So sorry to hear of the death of dear old Sid.
Nice tribute to by all accounts a nice man.
R.I.P. Sid. You were a star. Wonderful tribute Riot Squad.

Sid Cooper
The ultimate pantomime villain apparently worked as a hospital Porter. Good ole Sid. RIP.
RIP Hell in boots a lovely bloke exact opposite of ring persona, could really wrestle a bit.Spent more time outside the ring had the ability to exit through ropes at will.Another gud gone.
One of the great villains.
R.I.P. Sid
It's all been said above.
Great memories of seeing him live on my native Isle of Wight - where Cooper is a local name (and mine, too!)
Rest in Peace, sir.
Sid Cooper is one that unites us all. I don't recall a critical word about him. Also, a truly national worker, I reckon we all thought of him as one of our own.
As for villainy. He didn't need to do anything. He could just get in the ring and stand there. We could tell he was a bad un.
Such sad new. Fantastic heel, could really generate the heat when required. RIP.
Sad news indeed, RIP.
Very sad news. He was a great heel, and it's always saddened me that I started going to live shows just a little too late to see him in action.
Very sad. Saw him what seems like hundreds of times.
RIP
R.I.P. "Cyanide" Sid Cooper.
Very saddened to hear this. It speaks volumes that it was Sid and Peter Kaye who were entrusted with preparing Keith Rawlinson. It was mentioned that he was a Theatre Porter at a hospital, and one of the staff who was there was going for some major surgery insisted that “Norman” had to be the one to wheel her in. Such is the regard he was held in, whichever avenue of life he chose to walk down.
Sorry to hear of Sid's passing. He was a proper entertainer and very unselfish, putting the young lads over. R.I.P. Cyanide Sid.
RIP Sid.One of the best,I always wanted him to win, dunno why but I did.A true entertainer.
Such sad news. He was a brilliant entertainer who was one of the stalwarts of British wrestling. He had many epithets- Cyanide, Cry Baby, Rotten to the Core - a real character and fondly remembered from the halcyon days and someone who always gave full value.
Although never a real headliner Sid was one of those skilled wrestlers who no matter who he faced he could get the crowd on his opponents side in a matter of minutes, He must have appeared at almost every venue that Joint used. Instantly recognizable, rough, villainous and always gave the fans their moneys worth, RIP Cyanide Sid Cooper and my sympathies to his family and friends .
R.I.P. "Cyanide" Sid Cooper, scowling faced villain, and all round great wrestler of the golden era.
Sad news , great and long career , way after TV Finished. ....RIP
I always found him to be a total gentleman outside of the ring as much as he was a villain inside! I was impressed by him from his very early days when we knew him as Norman Cooper and there was no doubt whatever which side of the rules that he operated. So sorry to hear this news may he RIP.
