Yes Dumfries Hall is in Cardiff. The Earl of Dumfries is heir of the Marquess of Bute and despite the titles once lived in Cardiff Castle and owned stacks of land in South Wales
I dragged it out from my archives, so not sure from whence or when I purloined it. However, there’s no listing for Brighton Stadium, (Hastings listed) so I’m wondering if it was after its K.O.?
I'm slightly disappointed because the title of the thread took me back to 1973, my first visit to Birmingham and a night out at the Swedish Centre and their rather magnificent restaurant, now replaced by MacDonalds.
Yes, year and source John?
It's not the number of venues that I find impressive, I'm sure this was a small representation of what was going on . What impresses me is the number of shows that were weekly. Look at the listings in the Wrestler magazine and impressive though they were by the second half of the 1960s few places were weekly.
Remember, though, there were always more independent shows than Joint that were never recognised.

Certainly a selective list with a huge northern bias, but lots of venues are not Morrell venues.
Yes, looks like a definitive listing of Morrell venues.
Quaintly making it look like the capital had two venues that month.
But what is Hastings doing in there?
Is the Dumfries Drill Hall in Cardiff?
That looks to be from a Mat magazine of the early 1950s You'll notice it only shows Morrell's venues in London
Portsmouth not listed

that was indeed a small number of halls , I wonder if these were classed as the flagship venues.

What year was this?
Hi John. Too far to travel, over 200 miles now.
You haven't got a spare Tardis have you?
