Hi everyone. I am Steve Bests (aka Roger Adams) daughter. My Dad isn’t doing too well at the moment and we are trying to gather as much as we can about his wrestling days. We have had a lovely response to those we have reached out to and have a great selection of stories and pictures and a few new clips. In particular an amazing one with him and Johnny Saint in their elite jackets which I love! If anyone has anything else to share we would be so grateful. I’ve always loved his stories and I would love to hear more.
Here is one picture I have found of a very young dad… maybe from even before his first bout?
That’s brilliant again thank you so much. That is more than kind!
You absolute star. Thank you!
Thanks so much. So many posters we will be able to wall paper his room. it’s great!
I don't have any stories , but here are some more from Steve's early days.
Looks like he had "working holiday" in Spain, in 1967, wrestling in Barcelona.
Your dad was a really good wrestler Sally. In a time when there were so many good wrestlers and it was hard to stand out. But your dad did, and he was admired by many, even this Lancastrian.
Sad to hear he's not too well and we have memories to cheer him up. I saw him in a tag match with Johnny Saint against the Royals. As you would imagine it was a fantastic, fast and all action match. I think it went to a 20 minute draw. In those days I felt short changed when a tag match was only 20 minutes. But they earned their money that night.
Hopefully between us we can give him a greater presence on the Heritage website. Thanks for joining us. Do share some of your own dad stories with us.
