Bill Kazmaier. Three times Worlds Strongest Man, also tried his hand at pro wrestling and alas, he fell short of an acceptable level. (Bill was not a Lone Ranger therein, as many North American headliners were cut from the same hew. To be fair, Daddy Crabtree was a member of that august crew).
yes, thanks for your post, appreciate, and in the early 1980s they called it 'Sumo Challenge' at World's Strongest Man. References below. In 2004 they introduced new rules (I am assuming so), it was not called 'sumo' anymore but simply WRESTLING.
Peter, Hack, thanks. At some point 'Strongmen's Wrestling' was one of the official events of an international competition called 'World's Strongest Man'. My pics are from the 2004 championship which was held at Nassau, Bahamas, here's a list of 'trials of strength' at that event: Events: Deadlift with Barrels Machine, Squat Lift with Barrels Machine, Safe Lift for reps, Truck Pull, Super Yoke, Giant Farmer's Walk, Carry & Drag (Carry an Anchor & Drag Chain & Anchor), Fingal's Fingers, Wrestling, Stone Circle, Atlas Stones.
Unfortunately wrestling is not part of the competition anymore.
Hi Ruslan .I have seen the photos of what you are referring to, however I was referring to Kas joining the WCW for a period.

Bill doing what Bill did best.
Possibly in Eastern Europe?
Have you any more details of this event Ruslan? Doesn't look like a huge event.
