We All know that GEOFF CONDLIFFE did some of his Military Service in SINGAPORE
as well as plenty of Wrestling! After the end of the War-He still Wrestled a great deal on
this Idyllic Island and as JEFF CONDA He was Rated No.1 in 1946-well before the Arrival
of the Great Count Bartelli under his Famous Masked Persona!
CONDA is still mentioned as late as 1948 in a SINGAPORE Wrestling Programme in a
mini-write up about HARRY REVEL-the KANGAROO Mat Man!!
It's Interesting to find out more during his Phase before his Great Run as a Top Masked
Phenomenon.......
1948 SINGAPORE Programme to follow!!
MAIN MASK
Great thread Thanks to all who contributed
Sam Burminster was an interesting character , I did a research on him a few years back.

Thought i'd add the 1950 programmes I had photos of here:
I've also found something in my files on Leow Kwon Seng, but will wait to see what Main Mask has.
By the way, Ramon Napolitano was in that region (Singapore and others) in 1946, and apparently wrestled out there under an assumed name, because he was in military service at the time, and an amateur (unpaid) boxer, and was worried that he would lose his amateur credentials if caught out being paid.
I would assume, with Singapore being such a long way away, that many of the British people wrestling there could, in fact, be servicemen in the region?
It would be a very long and expensive trip, back in those days.
There is a Dai Sullivan wrestling in the UK in 1950, who (apparently) also used the names, Dai Morgan, Francis Sullivan and Alan Latham, could this be our man?
DAi Morgan was a name used by Dave Morgan. So in the late 1950s this could well be Dave Morgan in Wales, but not as early as 1946 in Singapore.
I found Chunky Harman described as a British featherweight .
A lot of new names for me as well Ost, maybe Dai Morgan is Dai Sullivan?, but Andy Oliver?, George Zbisko, Sailor Musket?
Yeah this is cool stuff, I have a 1950 programme from the same venue (and quite a few from later on). Interested in Frank "Kiwi" Kurtz. A new name to me.
Well spotted Anglo Italian. I hadn't seen the 7 minute rounds.I don't recall that before. Very odd , especially as other bouts were 5 minute rounds.
I did notice Sailor Musket. Years ago we had a discussion about whether or not this was Norman Walsh.
What became of the likes of Chunky Harmon?
I agree, you have excelled yourself, Main Mask.
We see the Count with an early liking for Commonwealth titles.
Son of Zombie and Son of Kong on the same bill, one masked.
And I am wondering whether we are seeing mention for the first time on Wrestling Heritage of a Chinese wrestler, in Leow Kwong Seng. Did a Chinese pro ever wrestle in the UK?
And have we ever seen 7-minute rounds?
So much to scrutinize here.
What fantastic archive material
Expecting by 1948 for Jeff to be nearing light heavy.
Started as Lightweight or maybe Welter.
He did a good stint as Conda or Condor.
Here is an early one at Hanley. https://www.wrestlingheritage.co.uk/apps/photos/photo?photoid=205615512
