These excellent posters would draw in the fans
By the 1960s the posters weren't as good as these, but even then they were good enough for me to stand and read the details. Dare I say I even avoided taking it all in at once and worked down the poster absorbing every detail. The detail just got less and less as we have lamented so many times before. Thanks Main Mask, great posters. Where do you live? Anglo has a fast get away car. Bernard has a crowbar to get in. And I'm sure we can get an alibi from Phil Kenyon we were on holiday in Switzerland the night your posters vanished.
A wonderful presentation Adrian.
Thank's MM. These posters are realy wonderful and as Anglo says the wealth of information might keep a punter gazing at them for five or ten minutes. Takes me back to when I first started taking an interest in wrestling posters back in the 1950's. On my way to and from school I would stop and read them over and over. But nip back in the Tardis and see how the posters have less and less information as time goes on. By the 1980's it's pretty much all gone. Thank's again MM.
I do agree. Beautiful posters, created with loving and commercial care. The sort of posters that would have people standing in front of them for five or ten minutes, poring over the details and in so doing becoming consumed with enthusiasm to buy a ticket. The photos are so life-like.
When Jules first caught our eye about ten years ago, he seemed like an occasional part-timer. A decade's collective research later and he was clearly full-time plus.
Thank you for sharing, Main Mask.
Great presentation MM and an unbeatable collection These are some of the very earliest Relwyskow bills for Morecambe. Both the Winter Gardens and the Central Pier go back into the 1930's. Out of my own bills Kath Look is promoting on the Pier on Tuesday's or Wednesday's alongside her Belle Vue shows on Fridays. George Rel did Thursday's at the Winter Gardens. I suspect the Pier may have been ditched for a while in the 1930's for the Astoria.
