I am so thankful to members on this site that still try to include items of interest from the 1950's etc.
You all know the people that bring up these long forgotten items, but I would like to mention especially Hack, Anglo, Ron, MM and then many more.
Thank you all very much.
One of the great things about this forum is that all the contributors seem to have their own little niche or area of expertise (if anyone can claim expertise where wrestling is concerned). The result is we all put our little pieces together and the jigsaw begins to make a picture. Everyone's contributions make this a fun place to be, and none more so than yours Bernard. You know we love you. Even when you tell us of.
I enjoy the teamwork on this site.
And I remain fascinated by understandiung how it all worked, and we still only understand a fraction of it.
I for one love all the old posters and programs, it's well before my time, but interesting none the less.
It is so great to have you Bernard. It would be a narrow view without the earlier days.
Over the years some wrestlers have had their historical profile raised by Heritage and that is only right.
Anglo of course pushed Alan Garfield , I know Hack liked Wild Angus and had a connection with Bartelli.
I have fulfilled many curiosities , being a big Kendo fan but stretching right back to Doug Clark who others are now remembering. Unraveling Kendo's tour and the proof that he had to drop the belt before coming home to Portz. Doing bio's for some pioneers has also been good.
But , for sure if we had to pick a top ten of gradual debates , researches and men who we have put in a special Hall of Fame of our own , the story of Bomber Bates is right up there. Sometimes we have had to return to the debate several times before we finally get there.
Always tell us more ,about your times at Newcastle.
You are Most Welcome BERNARD!- Thanx for your Kind Words!
I may have told you in the Past that it is partly due to YOU- that my Interest has
increased in the 1950's Wrestling-the Decade before my own!
And it is MOST Satisfying for me when I can put up a Random Item such as the
NORMAN MORRELL Letter-and YOU actually ATTENDED the Show in question!
That is just SO Cool Sir!!
Lots more 1950's Stuff to come-and incidentally the Early part of this Decade is
a Period that especially Interests MR.OST as well!!
