A Heritage member in Australia has written
"Bill Rawlings worked in Australia in 1968-69. His first year was mainly spent working the Sydney club circuit with two stadium appearances at Melbourne Festival Hall, losses to Billy Dundee on May 20 and Harold Kalivouris on November 2. In 1969, he continued to work the club circuit and made three stadium appearances, a losss and a draw against Billy Dundee and another loss against Ken Medlin, all at Sydney Stadium. There was one TV appearance, a loss against Murphy the Magnificent (Maurice LaRue)."
That was a surprise to me. Bill was back working here in 1970.
Hard man in the ring , a gentleman (and a gentle man) out of it.
Hi MM. I saw Alf many times at Newcastle ,but never saw either of his 2 sons.
He has always been billed (at Newcastle anyway) from Stockton.
And I think that Hack will also tell you that he never toured America, always too busy caring at the rest home, where he was adored by the elderly residents.
Here's ALF RAWLINGS Taking On ALI HASSAN BEY-Both 18 Stoners and
