Yes he did Ron, I noticed that too. Also with Bill Ogden and George Goldie. I wondered if Tony's training had any connection with the Blackboy Pub where the Hanley lads trained.
Thank you bombaflor. We've corrected the date. You had given us the correct information in the first place, but at our age we have trouble knowing what day of the week it is.
RIP Tony and I have just noticed that he was yet another wrestler who made 2020 that wrestled in the 1940's. Here a are a few bills from 1949. Certainly had a few workouts with Jim Mellor. Victoria Hall must have been a second home to him. Also new Brighton.
Toby Vallons funeral will be held on Monday, 24th February 2020 at Manchester crematorium. If i could get hold of any footage of any of his bouts it would be much appreciated as I would like to put together a video of his life and wrestling was a huge part of it. Many thanks, his daughter.
Thank you! My dad would be over the moon to read this tribute. It’s wonderful. My name is Maria and I’m his daughter. He actually passed away on the 6th February this year (Minor detail). Thank you so much again for the tribute. He was not only a well thought of wrestler but a fantastic father and human being. ❤️
Hello Maria, on behalf of the British Wrestlers Reunion we would like to send our condolences to you and your family at this sad time. You dad was highly thought of in the wrestling business and will be missed. We have added your dads name to the Dressing Room in the Sky on the Reunion website (www.britishwrestlersreunion.com). If you could email me at britwrestreunion@btinternet.com I can also give you some further information.
Also , to get a complete weeks work ,maybe Wryton could not always provide it.
From time to time we can find Tony working Scotland.
I also have a few outings with Dale Martin for Tony , but a lot easier to just work fro them in Coventry.
Ironically this Wryton man seems to finish his days with Paul Lincoln.
