I recall Kendo at Liverpool Stadium taking on Count Bartelli and Steve Veidor as a tag bout.Kendo stating he doesn't need a tag partner I can beat them both myself.Kendo winning 2-1.Also,Martin Conroy when as MC would give a considerably lighter wrestler a fall start. He did it one night with an Asian heavyweight who outweighed his opponent by a considerable amount. The heavyweight lost 2-0.

A superheavyweight by the name of "The Great Antonio" billed at around 6' 5" and weighing about 30 stones toured Japan in 1977 and before being defeated by Antonio Inoki he regularly competed in 1 against 3, 4 even 5 matches. Heaven knows how entertaining these contests were but he wrestled stiff against Inoki and paid the price.
While we are talking about Bobby Burns, can we answer a simple question was Bobby Burns and Bobby Bierne the same person?
Both from Wellingborough etc
I experienced a memorable 2 versus 1 contest in North Wales (Rhyl I think but my memory is cloudy). I was one of a pair with Ian Wilson versus Klondyke Bill. The bell rang, Klon grabbed me, slammed me then did his big belly flop on me. I woke up ten minutes later in the changing room! Could not remember much but then they brought Ian into the room in pretty much the same state as me. I think Klon won............... Eddie Rose(Manchester)
Just before Giant Haystacks went off to WCW I saw him in Croydon in Autumn 1995 against Skull Murphy, and King Kendo (Dale Preston). It was supposed to be 3 on 1 with Lloyd Ryan but he pleaded off with an arm injury (same as he did for his announced Hanley June 2000 tag with the real Naggers against Marty Jones and Darren Walsh). The two got pummeled but won after taking turns to jab Stax bloody with a foreign object to the head and then palming it off onto him so he got DQ'd , triggering a good old fashioned South London wrestling riot! (just like the Mick McManus video ar any Lewisham Theatre show of the time.)
Frosting 2000
The first match was won by the duo, leading to a return match which was won by Mr X, resulting in the unmasking of the beaten opponents.
It's a long time ago Frosting but do you know who they were?
>Kendo stating he doesn't need a tag partner I can beat them both myself I assume it was actually George that made that statement?
Jackie Pallo took on Iggy & Tony Borg as Casino Rochester approx 1965. Jackie lost weight that night. Don't recall the result but all the lads came out of dressiing rooms to watch!!
It was more usual for a conventional tag to develop into a two versus one when one of the wrestlers was unable to continue and his partner continued alone
Twice I saw Mr X (Ed Wensor) oppose the masked team of The White Phantoms, both occasions being at Ventnor Winter Gardens on my native Isle of Wight.
The first match was won by the duo, leading to a return match which was won by Mr X, resulting in the unmasking of the beaten opponents.
From what i recall reading on various relevant pages on Facebook, the match was doing the rounds for a while.
Giant Haystacks vs the Wilson Brothers is on YouTube.
I have seen a couple of these and they vary greatly from 3 in the ring to the two working as a tag. Inevitably the single wrestler won, rarely were these matches showstoppers.
