Can't help but be drawn off topic to see Mr TV Pallo in a support bout as late as May 21st 1963. Admittedly with Alan Garfield in the top of the bill...
We've been looking for a watershed moment when McManus and Pallo shot permanently to top of the bill status.
This Croydon programme rather indicates to me that it was only in McManus v Pallo II a few days later that their reputations really went haywire. McManus v Pallo I was good but was chiefly a set-up for the return a year later.
That means that McManus v Pallo II, which we already kind of imagine, really was THE bout that changed history.
Probably.
Jog any memories? On the tele in 1961/
Apparently ended in a, you guessed it, a draw.
Just found the key bout where Billy got a win.
IWE The 1st IWA World Series - Day 28
1968/12/16 @ Nagano, Nagano (Japan)
Billy Robinson defeated George Gordienko [World Series, Final - Match #2]
Keep in mind that this was 20 years into Gordienko's career and 10 years into Billy's.
In real terms this was generous of Gordienko to give a decision to Billy.
Not that long after Gordienko dropped to part time.
It was a good old thread on the older Forum if anyone want's to see it.

A good handful of years ago we talked about this on here and I remember that SaxonWolf and myself came up with a pretty big list of meetings. The debate centered round the fact that they were all draws.
I think finally I found one where Billy was given the win. I can't remember where and I don't think it was here in GB. probably Japan.
Like Krauser and Sherry , I tend to think maybe Gordienko never lost here.
Does anyone know otherwise.
Great stuff to own MM, don't think I have an example of them together.
And now to MAY 1963 at ANGLO's Hallowed FAIRFIELD HALL CROYDON
When these Two Titans of The Ring came into Conflict once again!-
Looks Like over 5 X 10 Minute Rounds!
Bet This 'Ultimate Bout' also Resulted in a Draw!?
