Who would be considered the unsung heroes, those who were not headline acts but those who would help to fill the bill and without them there would be no show. One I can think of is Mo hunter. is he still with us.
Yes, I saw Pete Curry capture the European Heavyweight Championship from Hans Streiger at Liverpool Stadium on 24th February 1978 - the first live show I ever attended. I think he lost it to Wild Angus a couple of months later

Pete Curry for me and late on I think he was recognised more for his service.
I'm in agreement with op54nessie about Maurice Hunter, who I watched as both Maurice Hunter and Ian McKenzie. As far as I know he's still alive.
