The Golden Hawk you are referring to . was Tony Russo. His real name is Jose Patrice Ficca Gomez. He also wrestled as The Golden Eagle , and Mighty Yankee # 2 .
Thanks te666x. Chuckling here at Superfly, the name for a man of that size, the crazily designed outfit. Even he probably filled halls in his day.
The American one that capitvated us in the early seventies was Super Hawk. Then we learnt that also he lost more than he won ....
Great collection there, must have been fun getting that autograph.
My opinion is that the rules are essential, the more the better. More chance to bend and break them. The mayhem of a free for all is all very exciting when it is a rare one-off but when every bout is just a ruleless brawl , well, that's what I find boring. I love to detect the wrestlers working together and creating a story.
This is The Superfly . He is also known as Blackstud Williams , Commando Ray , Kareem Muhammad , Ray Candy , Super Mario Man , The Zambui , and The Zambui Express. Real name is Ray Canty . This was when he was in World Class Championship Wrestling from 7-4-1982 to 9-9-1982. He was born on 12-3-1951 and he passed away on 5-23-1994 .
This is The Dragon / Magic Dragon { Haru Sonoda , who was killed in a plane crash on 11-28-1987 at the age of 31. When this picture was taken , wh was working for W.C.C.W. { World Class Championship Wrestling , and he also worked for Southwest Championship Wrestling.

With those rules , the matches must of been pretty boring , compared to what they do in today's matches.
The Red Phantom should be easy to identify. He's only got one ear!

Earliest use of the word "Tag"
You have a list of masked wrestlers, don't you, te666x? Whay don't you share it on here with us and people can comment.
Good answer . I guess I will have to do a Google search about it.
How many Masked Wrestlers did they have in the U.K. , and who were they ?
You're too smart to just guess Ostie? Why do you link them?
Ron can remind us but wasn't the first tag about 1949? Prior to that they were team matches but not what we would consider tag.
Did we ever work out a date for the earliest tag team match in the UK?
Looks like Red Brokau worked one in 1937 in West Bromwich.
I'm guessing it's Red Brokau under the mask
Sorry can't help. It's the first time I've come across him.
Any idea who " The Red Phantom " is ?
Thanks Gernot.Great Stuff.
