Most Wrestling Fans admire and respect the Great BILLY JOYCE! He was a fantastic
British Heavyweight Champion and an absolute Master of Wrestling Skills and Techniques!
But when did BILLY JOYCE start?-When did he have his first Bout? Does Anyone know?
Maybe HACK or RON?
My first Sighting of him is at ARDWICK STADIUM MANCHESTER in October 1942 fighting
JOHNNY DOULAS!-Can we go earlier?

There is some rather obvious evidence under our noses. Ken Joyce's father Harry cam from Canada and promoted in the thirties when Billy Joyce started. Only geographical considerations make us ruke out the connection. But we see Billy Joyce travelling far and wide, maybe there was indeed a connection, a relationship that then came to nothing.

Why did Bob choose the name Billy Joyce?
Good question. I await your answer. Seriously good question. I can't see an answer. Maybe Ron can, as he's much better at this sort of thing. Another question we should have asked when we had a chance.
Why did Bob choose the name Billy Joyce?
Interesting for St Bernard to be described as Jewish Champion.Should there have been also a Roman Catholic Champion or Church of England Champion?
Apologies for bumping an old thread, but I've just begun a deep dive into Billy Joyce and found some evidence to suggest 1939 is a very good bet for his debut year:
Sorry; "The Wrestler"
I saw Billy Joyce as light-heavyweight champion on Morrell and Beresford Saturday night presentations at The King's Hall, Belle Vue, and can recall opponents Billy Howes, Bob Kirkwood and Honey Boy Zimba. I also recall reading a report of a title defence (I think it was in "The Wresther") at The Empress Hall, Wigan, against Jack Fallon.
Did you ever get an answer to this Ruslan, or have you been waiting patiently for two years?
There was no title holder between Riley and Joyce.
I'm not coming in on this one Ruslan because we've discussed it before. I'll leave it to others, who will hopefully answer you, and see if they reach the same or a different conclusion.
Dear Friends, I have an inquiry, when did Billy Joyce actually finish his long career? I mean his last title reign as the British Light Heavyweight Champion 1971-76. He was 60y.o. Who was a champion before him. Undisputed and undefeated champion the legend of Catch wrestling Ernie Riley holder of the Morell/Mountevans Belt retired his title in 1969. Who was his immediate successor in 1969?
Ron's 1939 offerings seem to be the earliest evidenced sightings of Billy Joyce. I have found an undocumented outing a few months earlier, at Whitley Bay, 4th April, 1939, against Karel Petlonski.
Here's Main Masks earliest sighting, in 1942.
Anyone recognizes this Trophy he won?
