I could not get used to Alan Dennison as a clean guy.Yes he could really wrestle but he was so well suited to being a 'heel'.

Turning the question round … I was never convinced by Wayne Bridges’ heel turn. What on earth possessed him him to scream “Who have you ever beaten?” at Pete Roberts … having just lost to him?! Villainy didn’t come naturally…..
David Mantell:
"Also there was a poster from 1969 of him wrestling a Red Devil on Facebook. This could have been a very ancient Charlie Glover although it was far too early for Bill Clarke's RD from that Daddy tag in '82,"
Unlikely. Charlie died in 1959.
Ever so slightly off topic. Mick McManus. Even when he wrestled clean he was still objectionable. Credit to him.
Dave Bond was grudgingly clean.
Best of all was Bruno Elrington. He marvellously portrayed throughout that he was struggling to suppress his rage. He didn't smile. He got frustrated, but with himself. So believable. A superbly crafted show,
Brian "Gold Belt" Maxine & Pat Roach never quite "did" it for m e..
Kendo! His thankfully short clean spell was awful.
