For Joint it was Liverpool Stadium and Kings Hall,Belle Vue.Couldn't pick a winner because I loved them both. For the Independents it was the Villa Marina I.O.M.Which was your favourite large venue?
A bit like ranking masked wrestlers we never saw, but I would like to suggest The King's Hall, Belfast. Over the years I have tried to eke out memories but I think we have yet to find a Member who can tell us about this venue.
Judging by the bills, it was a top venue, And it hosted and still hosts top boxing tournaments and American Wrestling.
And of course, even when things were a bit lively in Belfast, the wrestlers still travelled over to perform.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but The King's Hall may have been the only JP venue in Northern Ireland and as such everything was intensified into single spectacular shows.
Well I too am going to be predictable for me it's gotta be St James Hall, although it's better days had past it had an atmosphere of its own and with a capacity of 4000 it was special
Possibly Ruslan it may well have had connections.Of all the hundreds of bouts that I saw at both Liverpool and Belle Vue there are two standouts in my memory .At Liverpool I remember Count Bartelli defend his Commonwealth Belt against Steve Veidor.A 2-1 victory for Bartelli.A fantastic technical contest around 1974 I would imagine. At Belle Vue Bill Robinson's 2-1 victory over Pat Roach around 1976/77. Another great contest.
Last attended an event at RAH just two years ago. Very expensive and not worth the money if you are up in the balcony
Royal Albert Hall. Dead expensive though. And the Fairfield Hall Croydon.
York Hall in Bethnal Green. Not a bad seat in the house
same as all of the other N EWCASTLE lads

Well, you don't need me to tell you, do you?
Cheetham's Library website provides a thorough history of Belle Vue with thousands of documents.

Belle Vue of Manchester=Catch Wrestling, I wonder if the 1930's Belle Vue has any connection to the legendary 1850's Belle Vue?
Sorry to be Predictable ROMEO-For me has to be KINGS HALL BELLE VUE-the Venue I
frequented the Most! Must have seen hundreds of great Matches at this FAB Arena thru the
'60's and '70's including very sadly the LAST EVER WRESTLING Show there in 1981-after
which it closed after 50 years!-And before you ask...NO I WASN'T at the First Ever Show in 1931!!
My abiding Memory of LIVERPOOL STADIUM was the SMELL of the Place!'Twas a PROPER
Fighting Arena! You could ACTUALLY Smell the Blood and the Sweat!!
