Hope I can find help. Still working on my book about the wrestling history in vienna. Felix Kerschitz organized the famous "Heumarkt" tournament in 53 and 54. He had good contacts to england and used a bunch of guys from the UK. Next year he was replaced by german legend Gustl Kaiser. So in 1955 he started his own European championship tournament at the "Engelmann Arena". Beside his star O.K. 1 (Dennis Mitchell) he booked only local and unknown talents. But at the end of june I find a "Wood" in the papers. I checked the A-Z section and found a handfull with this name. Billy and Micky probably wasnt around anymore and for Roy and Alan 1955 seems to early. Not much known about Ken. Maybe the Wood here was non of them. But I count on you guys....

which weight class?
Thank you, its interesting cause both Cademan 54 and Johnson 53 wrestled for Felix Kerschitz.
I know nothing about him but in Hanover in 1952 was Ted Woods.
Gernot is looking for a wrestler called Woods, possibly with a Yorkshire connection.
Well, I've no idea and this is a shot in the dark but I have found a Yorkshire Woods who fits the time frame.
Harry Woods was from the Boothtown area of Halifax. I've found the following for him:
6 Feb 1952 Leicester v Ron Johnson
16 Feb 1952 Middlesbrough Beat John Allan
25 Feb 1952 Leeds Lost to John Allan
28 Feb 1952 Halifax Beat Jim Boyle
3rd March 1952 Edinburgh Lost to John Allan
8 March 1952 Portsmouth v John Allan
29 March 1952 Kings Lynn v Jim Shirley
5 April 1952 Hanley v John Allan
5 June 1952 Norwich v John Allan
6 June 1952 Fleetwood Lost to Joe Hill
9 Sept 1952 Dundee v Dennis Keegan
21 Nov 1952 Halifax Lost to Alf Cadman
14 Jan 1955 Halifax Lost to Tony Lawrence
7 Nov 1958 Halifax v Jim Armstrong
He doesn't sound to me like one heading for a German tournament, but it's a name to throw in the pot.
Sam Betts and Johnny Kincaid have both mentioned a Harry Woods connected with the fairground booths. Don't know if this is the same man.
What about Tiger Wood/Woods?
Dennis being a Yorkshire man I can't see a connection. If you look in the A-Z most of the Woods seem to be Lancashire.
Not absolute though , someone else might have a good opinion on this.
Thank you does any of the "Woods" have a cónnection to Dennis Mitchell?
Your reasoning is good. As best as I can see we don't have anyone that fits the bill.
