Can't say I saw many entering or leaving the halls. Al Marquette said the original Undertaker drove to the venue in his hearse, but I don't know if that's true. The Borstal Boys would publicly enter the hall before the start of the show handcuffed to their minder. I saw Pallo and JJ leaving the Tower having a barney about something that had happened in the dressing room - no idea if it was put up or genuine.
Around 1977, a school pal of mine was waiting for Wrestlers autographs, after the show had finished. Giant Haystacks came walking out, and so my pal stood in front of him, holding out his autograph book and pen, Haystacks grabbed him under the arm pits, lifted him up and plonked him down to one side, and carried on walking out of the venue!
So he was definitely in character as he left the building that night.
Dear Main Mask, could you please check in your collection if you have this issue of the Wrestling Review? I would highly appreciate that. Thanks, Russian Concussion.
For a long time I was trying to find out who was that man with the belt from this photo. I was asking people around (that's what I usually do) and received quite a few different answers. Meanwhile I continued my research. And finally success. Man on this photo is the legend of British Amateur Wrestling - The Lancashire Wrestler - Oldhamite Herbert Hall (1926-2013).
I think someone mentioned him recently? Stumbled across this yesterday. https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/vocnation/episodes/2019-12-04T21_02_01-08_00
Kendo Nagasaki obviously stayed in character.
Another masked man ,The Ghoul, stayed in character.
A lot of wrestlers stayed in character because their character in ring was the same out of the ring
Doctor Death stayed in character Johnny Czeslaw sometimes the hero sometimes the heel.
