Who are these touring wrestlers (circa 1939)?

Thank you very much for your reply. I was not aware that there might have been the possibility of them being Swedish. Would you happen to know of any resources for Swedish or continental European wrestling in general for the period? Or going forward until the 90's really, as I haven't been able to find much. They could of course also be German or French. Either way the search continues. Also, glad you enjoyed the film. I did as well when I first saw it and was very impressed with the quality and close-ups.

I believe it was filmed in KB Hallen, which still exists to this day, though heavily modernised since then, obviously. It is an arena with multiple gymnasiums etc. in the Danish capital Copenhagen. There is very little, if anything, written about wrestling in Denmark (or Scandinavia in general). It's never really gained any popularity, but this is one of two examples I've been able to find of someone trying to run in Denmark. The other being in 1974 or 1975.

Several of the people on the poster from that show are billed as being from England, Scotland, or Ireland. Of course it could be a bunch of Swedes claiming different nationalities :) I was going to post a seperate question about this later, but might as well throw it in here.

Thank you for replying. That is a very good still for seeing faces, so hopefully that can help down the line. It is indeed a very small audience which could be why this is the only wrestling I've been able to find records of until circa 1974 after which it dissapears again until the mid-90's... Not a great market for wrestling.

As Kristian states the date may not be accurate, by April 1940 Denmark was under occupation this may give a timeline to the film and add creedence to the possibility of the German Eagle on the first photo. They could be wrestlers from the occupied countries.

Thank you for the reply. I honestly have very little to go on, but thought it could be that a few British wrestlers were on tour in the continental Europe. Really just trying anything as it's very hard to find any info (or even who to ask). I can't spot the German Eagle but like Powerlock said, it's very possible that the date of circa 1939 is not accurate. So it absolutely could be the case that it's from the occupied countries. It's also called "catch-as-catch-can" in the opening text and "catch" is still a common name for pro wrestling in Germany or France to this day. Would you happen to know of anyone who knows about European wrestling in that period? Or even books about it?

@Powerlock Thank you for the reply. Would you happen to know of any ressources for wrestlers or wrestling in the continental Europe during this period? It would be interesting to read about how wrestling might've traveled around the occupied countries and how that life was, if it did indeed happen.
