I wondered too Anglo I thought Sumo but Konishiki 'the dump truck' weighed in at 638lb at his peak and is listed as the heaviest Sumo wrestler ever. So I wonder if it was just Yoko plucking a figure out of the air to justify his weight gain
Hi Powerlock,
You wrote of Yokozuna: " he was aiming to hit around 900lbs so he could be the world's heaviest sportsman "
So who on earth was the 899-pounder he was trying to overtake? 65 stone!
I thought it was always accepted that the heaviest wrestler of all time was William Cobb of the USA, who wrestled as "Happy Humphrey"?, I am sure he was close to 60 stones.
wow...you won't find a belt to tie around this kind of waist...speechless.
Billy McGuire weighed 51st 6 and his twin brother Benny McGuire weighed 53 st 6 at their heaviest. They were in the Guinness Book of Records.
As Powerlock mentioned, at the Heroes of Wrestling show Yoko weighed around 54 st and was having trouble moving. He lost weight after that.
Yokozuna when he wrestled the Heroes of Wrestling show in 1999 was estimated to weigh 760lbs around 54st 4lbs a big lad
gladys the impaler reached 57 stone and used to win by sitting on the face of her face
