There must have been scores of them.Honey boy Zimba/Warrior Nigel.Mal Kirk/Kojak Kirk/King Kong Kirk. Jud Harris must have had at least three. Can anyone add more?
One of the most alias in british ring should be George Burgess. Coolcat Jackson, Coolcat Virgil, Samson Negro, Zulu Warrior, Jamaica George, Gordon Samara, Black Salem, Kid Burgess, Jamaica Kid and I am sure I forget a few.
It's a topic that crops up from time to time and well worthy of Romeo for reminding us. Avoiding tax or avoiding the wrath of rival promoters were often reasons. On independent shows it was sometimes a case of a promoter putting a name on a poster and then booking a wrestler to take that name. As this tooic has gone quiet here's a reminder of the Heritage list. Do add more.
I've just recalled that on the show I promoted at The Parr Hall in Warrington where Ezra wrestled as The African Witchdoctor as part of an eight team K.O. tournament, Al Miquet wrestled in three of the eight teams as Al Miquet, Kung Fu and Kamikaze.
Ezra had various ring names, the most common seeming to be Sugar Ray Do Do. He only wrestled for me twice; at The Parr Hall in Warrington I billed him as The African Witchdoctor and at Walsall Football Club I billed him (much to his surprise when he arrived at the venue) as Banana Bill.
Not really in the scope of this forum, but there's a current US wrestler called John Hennigan (best known as John Morrison in WWE) who changes his name every match so it's Johnny and then a surname that fits the promotion or area (eg Johnny Impact or Johnny Downunder).
The American wrestlers leave the Brits lagging with multiple names there's wrestler who could put on a bill with just their different persona. I will add a few tomorrow.
Steve Mchoy/Casey

Quite an unusual one would have been "Romeo" Joe Critchley's alter ego as lady wrestler The Black Widow.
