I'm surprised by this Ruslan. I have occasionally (very occasionally) seen mention of a Junior Middleweight division on an obscure independent bill. But Ted Betley in 1972 was promoting in conjunction with Joint Promotions and there was not junior middleweight division for Joint.
I don't; but I do recall that Betley's ring was still stored at the hall. I telephoned him and he gave me short shrift and would not allow me to use it. Instead I used the rings of Al Miquet, Lee Sharron and Billy Hargreaves respectively.
I promoted a handful of shows here around '76 - '77. My first show was topped by The Borg Twins versus Les Diables Rouges and Lord Bertie Topham (accompanied by Ponsonby) versus Mike Dallas. My second show was an eight team K.O. tournament which concluded with The Lincolnshire Poachers (Bill Clarke and Rick Wiseman wrestling as Rick Clarke) beating the team of Pat Curry and Harry Palin. My third show featured the tag team winners (Clarke and Wiseman) facing Lee Sharron and Klondyke Jim. This show also featured "Jumping" Jim Moser versus "Bad Boy" Steve Young (Skull Murphy/Pete Northey).
