Yes Anglo, that is a good point you make. Different countries, different tastes, eh? And Bill, I agree, Pac is excellent. Also Kip Sabian, who is actually from my home town!

'I remember seeing someone on a bill near Great Yarmouth called the Mummy taking on Danny Lynch' In the late 1970's/early 1980's Jackie Pallo promoted shows in Gt Yarmouth and The Mummy often featured. Was this the same man? He would stand motionless in his corner until the bell rang. I remember he partnered The Wildman of Borneo in tag against Pallo and Son and when they lost, he and The Wildman turned on each other! Very entertaining!

I did witness Pete Roberts act as a heel a couple of times. Once against Ray Steele where Roberts wouldn't let him get up off the canvas, then turned on the crowd. The other time against Sandy Scott, who was a local favourite. Never really understood why as he was very popular with the crowd.

Sad news. A great performer. Remember seeing him and Pete Roberts walking along before a show one night and I asked if they were going to win - Sid scowled 'I always win!' R.I.P. Sid.

Would this be the same Billy Whitecloud who wrestled for Jackie Pallo promotions? If so, I saw him wrestle live several times including against Johnny Kincaid and a young Dave Finlay. Always an all action bout.

While I fully understand why people did not like Big Daddy matches, personally I found some of them entertaining, even though they were predictable. At my local venue one August Bank Holiday weekend, the place was sold out - it was standing room only - and the atmosphere was ELECTRIC!!! Never saw it like that again. When Daddys music started up, the noise was deafening. Daddy marched around the outside of the ring, shaking hands with everybody he could and he even lifted up one little girl and put his top hat on her - I can still see her smile now! I saw Daddy being partnered by many different wrestlers such as Steve Grey, Kid McCoy, Ian McGregor etc. What other bout could you see Danny Collins slap King Kong Kirk around the face? In my opinion, good entertainment. As a side note, my Dad got me interested in wrestling as a young boy and it was he who took me to watch it live and I was hooked. When my father died two years ago, we were not sure what music to have at his funeral (as he was not big on music) so I suggested ' WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED'. Brought back many happy memories and still does!

One of the true greats, I'm sure many younger wrestlers took up the game because they wanted to be like Rocco. Best match I saw was a chain match against Danny Collins, vicious but enjoyable. Maybe one of the few bad guys a lot of people did not seem to mind winning, that is maybe what made him so good. Very sad end to his life, R.I.P. Mark 'Rollerball' Rocco. Thank you for the terrific memories, we will never forget your contribution to British Wrestling.

We all got older! Honestly, I loved going to wrestling and could have lived those days forever!

Think I might have found a win for Mulligan; August 16, 1987 in Great Yarmouth: KO;Brooks bt McGregor; Mulligan bt I.Trevors F;Brooks bt Mulligan And I was there! Maybe strange to let him win as Ivan Trevors was the local boy but it probably made a better final. How about Lucky Gordon? He seemed to be another good at making others (especially youngsters) look good. Peter Wilson and Pete Collins I don't think I ever saw win. What about that big fella... whatshisname.... Big Daddy, did he ever win? Can't recall any wins!!! 😜

On my way to my local venue one night I was walking behind Sid Cooper and Pete Roberts having a laugh together. I asked 'Are you going to win tonight lads?' and Sid scowled 'I ALWAYS win!' Also, on a different occasion Mal Kirk pulled up in his car and asked if there was anywhere to park. He looked big, even sat in his car. And I had to say No!

Never saw him in any of those thankfully! But yes, just shows he would do whatever they asked of him. Always laughed when he had a hold which his opponent was trying to get out of and Kaye would say 'you're not strong enough boy' before he was thrown across the ring!

Have seen Rocco vDanny Collins in a chain match, also Danny v Bearcat Wright in one. I'm sure I also saw a photo of Rocco v Finlay using a chain - would love to have seen that one!
