In Memories of the Old Days
In todays (11 October 2025) Daily Telegraph a sports writer spent an afternoon watching sports broadcasts from Saturday 12 October 1985
Pro Wrestling came from High Wycombe and included a very decent match between Johnny Wilson and Tom Tyrone.
Kent Walton tells us Wilson must be feeling off colour and Tyrone subsequently wins.
As both wrestlers are still in the land of the living hope they get to view the article

Rev Pro Wrestling are starting events at Porchester Hall in Bayswater from next month
The present venue in Great Portland St is becoming too expensive. It must be quite a few years since Porchester Hall was last used for Pro Wrestling

At a recent event in Balham there was some swearing from the wrestlers. It occurred to me that during "the Golden Era" I do not recall any bad language at all.Was this just because it was forbidden by the promoters? Or just confined to the dressing room

Alan Wood has a couple of very good matches on You Tube. The A-Z entry does not state if he is still alive. If he is he could be added to sixties greats still with us

Recently at a live event in Liverpool a wrestler picked up a member of the crowd[clearly a plant] and threw him into the chairs. This was quite shocking because it was unexpected. Did any members of this forum feel shocked by anything in a match in the Golden Era.
I once heard a wrestler regarded as a gentleman of the ring use choice four letter words to an opponent in the corridor at Wolves Civic Hall which seemed quite shocking at the time
