V,ery good wrestler and good hearted man. I was on a couple of bills with him when I was starting out in wrestling about 60 years ago in Manchester. Jimmy Lewis introduced me to him in the changing room just bfore he went on to fight. Eddie Rose.

It was lovely to read about Gustav Le Brun - an old and valued friend from so many hears ago. We were teachers together as it states in the article in this weeks Newsletter,, and when he found out I was also a pro wrestler he took a great interest and began to train with me and joined Panther's Gym. He soon enter the pro ranks and emerged as a promising middleweight with the independent promoters in the North West where he quickly became a favourite with the fans. Arthur (to give him his real name) was a friendly, enthusiastic and geneous lad as well as being a good wrestler. His career was cut short after getting a severe knee ligament injury that did not heal properly even after surgery. his was the victim of a very hard single leg boston crab applied by Jack Dempsey, the British Welterweight Champion from Wigan. He was a great a loss to the profession. I last saw him about 15 year ago in Blackpool where he was working as private hire/taxi driver. Much missed but remebered with affection Arthusr Heaton aka Gustav Le Brun. Eddie Rose (Manchester).😥

I worked on Jack's shows for a good number of years; he had so many around Manchester my home town. I well remember bouts versus Ian Wilson, Mark Wayne, Roy Fortuna, regular referee Dai Glynn and so many other local lads. Good days remembered with love and pleasure. Eddie Rose😍

I think Jack had at least 3 daughters who wrestled. Sorry can't be more accurate but it was 50 years ago when all 3 were working on shows. Jack was ne of my good friends in those days.. I had a lot of time for him. Cheers! Eddie Rose

Had some work outs at the gym with Dale and his brothers prior to setting out for some distant venue. Great atmosphere and friendliness plus I learnt some new holds! Cheers guys Eddie Rose (Manchester)'😉
