As you may realise, the Isle of Wight is my homeland. I have no recollection whatsoever of Paul Lincoln appearing as Doctor Death anywhere on the Island after the amalgamation with Joint. Thus, no unmasking of which I'm aware after that.

I came close to one such match. At the time when Jackie Pallo was promoting at Ryde (IW) Town Hall, although I was going through a phase of minimal interest, JJ Pallo was advertised as top of bill against one Tarantula, so I decided to go along to see what Junior was like. Needless to say, Tarantula was the heel in the match, although I felt he was fairly lightweight in the role. However, at one point the ref got fed up with his dirty deeds and removed his t-shirt, ready to take on the evil one. Thus a bout was set ip for 2 or 3 weeks later. And I do mean "set up"! I didn't go!!

I'm sure he did. Then again, just about every wrestler had a chin.

I saw MrX (Ed Wensor) taheon the masked team of The White Phantoms at Ventnor Winter Gardens (IW) twice. The duo won the first time, but lost the re-match. I believe that the bout was doing the rounds atthe time.

I believe that both Bob and Dave served as White Angels at some stage, but although I've never heard Ray's name mentioned as one such, it wouldn't surprise me if he had worn the bonnet, given his closeness to Al Hayes.

Are you including the week I did in circus there, back in 1991??

I remember seeing Abe Goldberg (interesting name!!) on a Paul Lincoln bill at Ryde Town Hall "a few years ago", never to be seen again. I wonder if Carl Kowalski was actually John Hayles/Kowalski from Partsmouth.

Only that (surprise, surprise) Doctor Death was the winner!

It's probably relevant that it was the first time I witnessed Doctor Death!

I was there with my Dad Ryde being my home town. It was Harry Fields who opposed Legeat.

Interestingly enough (OK! That's a matter of opinion) the only time I saw Mick McManus live was against Ken Joyce!

Twice I saw Mr X (Ed Wensor) oppose the masked team of The White Phantoms, both occasions being at Ventnor Winter Gardens on my native Isle of Wight. The first match was won by the duo, leading to a return match which was won by Mr X, resulting in the unmasking of the beaten opponents. From what i recall reading on various relevant pages on Facebook, the match was doing the rounds for a while.

Dave Larsen was often billed as such.

As far as I'm aware, the only connection is that he was the pronoter at Ryde Town Hall prior to the merger of Paul Lincoln Promotions with Joint Promotions. Granted, though, that that was more the province of Paul Lincoln rather than Doctor Death.

As you will understand, I perk up if I see any mention of the Isle of Wight, but I don't remember reading about such a gentleman. Which is no guarantee that he was not mentioned.
