RIP Dave. He was on my first live wrestling bill back in the simme rof 1963,opposing The Beast (Farmer Ed Bright under another name) for Paul Lincoln at Ryde Town Hall, IW. He became one of my favourites.

As you may realise, the Isle of Wight is my homeland. I have no recollection whatsoever of Paul Lincoln appearing as Doctor Death anywhere on the Island after the amalgamation with Joint. Thus, no unmasking of which I'm aware after that.

I remember seeing Abe Goldberg (interesting name!!) on a Paul Lincoln bill at Ryde Town Hall "a few years ago", never to be seen again. I wonder if Carl Kowalski was actually John Hayles/Kowalski from Partsmouth.

For the possible benefit of those of you who live outside the UK (and of others) there is a Book of Condolence on the Buckingham Palace website. Not the same as using a pen, but it is there. I would think that there are "proper" Books in British Embassies throughout the world.

Indeed, Belfast is part of Northern Ireland, but although that's part of The United Kingdom, it is not part of Great Britain. In full, the United Kingdon is "The United Kingdon of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". Bit of a clue there.

I suppose the next "obvious" one would be Crusher Mason as The Mighty Chang. That name was also used by Milton Reid, whom I believe to have been British. Presumably we count Joe D'Orazio's Japanese character.

I believe that Joe Cornelius was a wrestler of some renown. Thus it will be of interest to some.

I may well have been at Ryde Towen hall that night, although I'm not sure. I do remember seeing Yearsley v Veidor at that venue, but I seem to recall that the former was billed as John Henry Yearsley. And the undercard rings no bells ar all. John/Caulkhead.

Big John Hayles, later to be known as John Kowalski. Although Ryde Town Hall is certainly on my home territory, in 1977 I was living and working away from the Island.

Ryde Town Hall was certainly on my patch, and I recall seeing the main event as a headlining match somewhere along the line. But it was not supported by any tag team match, tournament final or not! Any idea of the year in question, Ron? John/Caulkhead.
