Merry Christmas everyone.

An incredible story. I vaguely remember reading about this but never imagined this website could have been involved. It's not really a wrestling piece but does demonstrate the sheer depth of Wrestling Heritage.

I found the website when I googled some of the wrestlers I watched on television and it came up. I only remembered a few of the big names but it has reminded me of others and most of them I've never heard of. The A-Z is amazing but the years of wrestling is the best part.

"Overnight he's gone from being a national embarassment and a racist to the greatest ever human being to walk the planet. People are endlessly fickle. " That happens when anyone dies. It's a big price to pay for popularity.

Look at the Bristol poster and theres Catweazel and Billy Torontos. That seems a strange match to me having two comedians fighting one another.

What a great experience for you being part of the Olympics. You must have loads of memories and I'm looking forward to part 2. I've enjoyed the John Shelvey series and now there's another Australian on Heritage.

I read this forum and feel I have little to offer, but I always enjoy Bernard's posts.

I get a lot of enjoyment from the A-Z and learn a great deal. I've been using the A-Z today since the changes you made and would like to say how much better it is. You are right that the old index had become untidy. I could see why but this is a lot better. Scrolling down is a bit odd because some famous people seem to be missing but we will get used to it.

Although I know nothing about Australian wrestling I do enjoy these memories of John Shelvey. Thanks to Mr Shelvey for sharing them with us. As you've seen both which do you prefer, Aussie or Brit wrestling?

The tv channels are running short of programmes. What a shame they haven't pulled out some old World of Sport shows.

Any death is sad and I send condolences to Ray's family and friends. I didn't know him but he seems to have been a man who was greatly respected, loved and will be missed. R.I.P.

Happy birthday Hurricane. I thought he was a good wrestler but lacked the charisma. I'm not sure he would have stayed the course and wrestled for another thirty years. To me he seemed to serious about wrestling to stay as a professional.

A wonderful poster at the top of this post. The later promoters could have learned a lot from this Athol Oakley. So, why did they succeed when he didn't. I see that on that poster it doesn't even say Wrestling. Did everyone just know.

I've no connection with Ray, but have heard so much about him on this site and others. Wishing you well Ray, get well soon.
