I don't think that the bad language is just something that wrestlers have to deal with. Whether on TV. or in films years ago you never heard anybody swearing, nowadays it is all about F....this and F.....that, even on daytime broadcasts! I think it is more a genaration broblem. Cheers

There were loads of cinemas in Accrington in the 50’s & 60’s such as: -        The Ritz -        The Odeon earlier known as the Regal -        Palace -        The Prices Theatre -        Hippodrome -        Empire -        Kings Hall None of these were in anywhere suitable to hold wrestling matches. The only place suitable was the St. Johns Drill Hall, this is where Bob Bannister then started promoting wrestling matches.

Hi there everyone. Just got back home from hip replacement surgery, with 2 weeks of physio after the operation. Everything ok now and should be fighting fit by the end of September. As far as Barnoldswick is concerned, I remember there was wrestling there but I myself never got there. By the way it is nearer to Nelson and Colne where the night club wrestling was going on.

I was just going to publish the same news from the Olympics. Great achievement for the Cuban guy who by the way hasn’t wrestled in competions since the last Olympics! Shame that there wasn't greater coverage on TV. Cheers
