Interesting bill Ron, in particular: Tag match between Joe Reid and Don Boardman vs. Jim Bevan (Joe's Brother-in-Law and The Great Marcus (Joe's Son. Never seen them billed together. Triple Promotions: I asked some time ago in another forum, who was behind this promotion. I didn't get any positive answer at the time. My query was about the wrestling that took place in Kirkland near Fleetwood. I’m sure that Al Strickland had something to do with the promotion, as I got paid from him at the end.

Hi Ron, Reaing with interest the bills from the Carnforth Carnival. This all rings a bell for me, in particular the 1967 bill with Vince Lawson vs, Don Plummer and the other guys. I mentioned in another forum the fact that Bob Bannister ran shows, which I thought were for a Coal Miners Carnival, In 1963-4 I was up against my tutor Don Plummer. In retrospect I'm now convinced that It must have been the Carnforth Carnival. The twist on the miners, was that we were told the boughts were being filmed and that they were going to be shown at Coal Miners homes/clubs in the North. Any thought on this subject Ron would be very much appreciated.

Hi Ron, I'm fighting fit again, at least out of bed and walking around. I mentioned that I had a couple of questions for you: On one memorable occasion 1963-4 I was on the same bill as Dirty Dominic Pye vs. Cowboy Jack Cassidy. Ian St. John vs. Andreas----. Any Poster of this meeting? I'm not sure which Promoter was promoting the shows, can't find any names. We from Accrington got our bookings from the gym owner Bob Bannister. Cheers

Sad news indeed. We would always chat together at the Blackpool reunions, where his story telling’s were next to none. I still have a DVD of an interview he gave at one of the reunions, which kept all of us watching laughing in stitches. R.I.P. Sam
