Sad news indeed.
Always good to watch in the ring. Sorry that I never had the chance to meet him personally.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seeme to me that the throw took place outside of the wrestling mat area (orange circle)?

I think this point has already been covered in the past.
Not sure about measurements, but yes there were various sizes which were used.

How often were Professional Wrestlers weighed?

In the years that I wrestled; I can’t remember anybody being weighed before a bout.
As a heavyweight (I was 15 ½ stone) you were just taken for granted that you were a heavyweight, or against a lighter opponent it would be as SaxonWolf said, be a Catchweight contest.

Interesting that nobody knows who were the "Supporting Contest!
Question: Was this not so unusual?

After seeing her on T.V. shaking hands with the new P.M. on Tuesday, it was a great shock hearing the news on Friday that she had passed away.

Sad news indeed. One of the greats in British wrestling. As a young wrestler who had just started as an amateur in 1960, I always enjoyed the matches of Bert on TV. He was always doing his moves, which were to say the least inspiring to all of us who had just started wrestling.
My only regret, is that I never met him personally.
R.I.P. Bert

Not such a big thing, but why have "Write a Comment" twice, i.e. at the start and at the end?
