Oh my Lord. My real name is Howard. I was trained by Dick Harrison and Dale Broughton. On the 15th May 1993, I turned up to a show in Boston and they put me on with you! You beat me quite quickly, then Dale came in and had an impromptu match with you. The other wrestlers present were Axel Strong, Bill Clarke, Pete Lapaque, Gunner Johnson and Steve Sadler. We then went to the vicarage in Stretton-on-Dunsmore a week or so later. It would be great to go again after thirty years! Please give me a shout. If you're blue eye in Wolverhampton, I'll burst in as the villain.

There is a bout on YouTube from 1987 between King Ben and a heavier man, El Diablo. Does anyone know who El Diablo was?

I've just looked up that match and watched it. Great stuff.

Johnny was often in with Giant Haystacks; one on one, handicap, battle royal and tag matches. They even worked an exhibition match on kids T.V. show, 'Runaround'.

I remember the Jarrow Viking throwing sweets to the audience. Strange behaviour for a villain.

Giant Haystacks had several. Wild Angus, Rasputin, David Finlay, Mark Rocco, Scrubber Daly, Mal Kirk, John Quinn, Sid Cooper and Dynamite Kid spring to mind. Plus Shirley, of course.

Kendo and Rocco fought after their televised acrimonious split. Also, Haystacks fought Rasputin after double-crossing him in a Battle Royal.

Steve Grey Vs Sid Cooper springs to mind.

I once attended a bill at Peterborough Sports and Leisure where all four bouts were won by the villains. You can probably guess the promoter.

I'm still looking for a rematch. Imagine that..."Thirty years in the making".
