Here is a photo of Fred just before Xmas 22 when he was made Lifetime President of the Essex Wrestlers Reunion which is run by Neil Evans so you are correct there is a connection there. Fred did attend The Bridges Reunion on a number of occasions with Neil, I believe the last time was 2019.

I believe that the current Father of Wrestling is the lightweight 'Smiler' Fred Bentley who celebrated his 95th birthday last year.

Thank you MM and Hack for your kind words, after speaking to various people the majority wanted the Reunion to carry on and so we will do just that. Obviously with each passing year we will see a decline in numbers attending but as long as people want us we will carry on. MM, I am trying to find a venue which is centrally located in the UK for the gathering that I mentioned to you in our recent email communication and hopefully this will be able to happen in 2022.

Just to let everyone know that I have been in contact with Alans nephew (himself a champion bodybuilder) and his niece who would like to publicly thank everyone for their messages of condolence, they have been a great comfort to the family at this sad time.

As recently reported, referee Bob Staffords funeral will be taking place on Thursday 26th August at 2.00pm. We have now received word from his daughter Chelsea with regard to flowers/donations for anyone wishing to do this. 'Dad's wishes were for donations to be made to either British Heart Foundation or Ellenor Hospice' Should you wish to send flowers then this can be arranged although the family have requested that it be 'Family Flowers' only. Well done William, take all the plaudits you get because you deserve every single one of them and many more, as do many others who are regular contributors here. Sadly we have got to that time now when a lot of the grapplers who got into the ring are at an age where they have no knowledge or have any desire to use the internet and so if it were not for wonderful sites like this and fans from around the World some of the UKs great wrestling names would be lost forever and certainly not receive the recognition that they now get and rightly deserve. Long may you all reign and continue keeping the legacies of these great wrestlers very much in everyone mind.

@adrianpollard.shangri-la thank you for that, people like you are what we need and when we know what is happening I will let you know. Dale Storm is a great fella and he is, like many, a great story teller, if you can get to the Scottish Reunion at anytime you should go. I went in 2019 and it was fantastic, I really enjoyed it. In a few weeks time I shall be in a position to talk to you about that little discussion we had and what we will have.

Thank you Hack, it was great to see you and MM and of course everyone else that came down to see us last Sunday. You mentioned above the difficulties we encountered and we had to do the best we could with what we had, as they say 'the show must go on' and it did. I am delighted with the positive feedback that we have received and the numerous offers of help for the future and they are all very much appreciated. Lee Bamber did a sterling job and that is why he is the best MC in the business. All in all everyone had a good time and that is the most important thing.

Thank you for this Hack, much appreciated. The Bridges continues to operate as usual despite Sarahs health issues and as such the Reunion will go ahead as scheduled. I look forward to seeing you and some Heritage members on Sunday 8th August as we celebrate 30 years and also remember the late Frank Rimer.
