Sad news reported tonight by Les Prest and Jimmy McCormack that Blue Angel Jim Stockdale died on 4th December at St Margaret's Nursing Home in Grimsby. He was 88 years old.
,Gentleman Jim was an icon among wrestlers threw out the North East,he was proprietor of the Apollo gym at Stockton gas works, where he brought wrestlers such as Jimmy boy Devlin,Jim McCormack,Don Robinson & Toma Hansom into the game. Unfortunately as he was living out of the area (Immingham ) we were out of touch with him,and thought he had died a few years ago,Jimmy Devlin,Dicky Swales & myself visited him about 5years ago but then a while after that his phone number became unavailable. R.I.P. Gentleman Jim.
Many thanks Les and Adrian for sharing details of a wrestler beyond my scope.
